I Got Lost. A Poetry Chapbook by Eric S. Chapman
I Got Lost is a small chapbook, five poems, each set somewhere specific: a house after a dog is gone, a Las Vegas median, a Pentecostal church in northern Michigan, a Dallas rental counter, an alley in Howell hung with upside-down umbrellas. The places are real. What the poems are actually about is harder to name. The space between arriving and being somewhere. The way a location holds what happened there and doesn’t let go.
The illustrations are by Rein G., who is Eric’s longtime illustrator. The drawings don’t illustrate the poems so much as they sit with them, in the same room, looking at the same thing from a different angle.
It’s free. Download it, read it somewhere specific.
