Case study and Website
Pseudo Slang: a home for three decades of jazz rap
Some bands need a website. Pseudo Slang needed a home. I designed and built it, and I've stayed on as the group's digital marketing partner.

The artist
Pseudo Slang is a jazz-leaning strain of underground hip-hop led by Emcee Sick, with roots in the Bronx, Buffalo, and Chicago. The catalog spans three decades, leans hard on vinyl, and is mostly self-released on Sick’s own Baby Steps Hip Hop label. After about twenty years on the road, the group now writes and records from Germany.
The challenge
Three decades of records, videos, flyers, and tour stories were scattered across Bandcamp, SoundCloud, and a handful of social accounts. Fans, venues, and press had no single place to hear the music, see where the group was playing, or buy a record. The site had to work as a booking tool and a press resource, and still feel like the music: loose, handmade, and a little left of center.
What I built
A custom WordPress site with a voice of its own. Every section is named in the group’s slang, and every page is built around listening first.
- PSONGS: an on-site player with a full playlist, so visitors can listen without leaving.
- PSHOWS: tour dates and booking details for venues and promoters.
- BIO, VIDS, and PICS: the story, the videos, and the archive in one place.
